Car production started at Hyundai plant amid lockdown; 200 units ready on day one; Maruti will open a plant on May 12

Amid lockdown in the country, many auto companies have started production at their plants. Korean company Hyundai has also started car production at its plant at Sriperumbudur, Chennai. At the same time, the company started the production of 200 cars on the first day. During this time, the company is also following the social distancing along with the guidelines issued regarding coronaviruses. Hyundai wants to produce around 12,000 to 13,000 cars this month.

Prior to the lockdown, many of the company’s trains received online bookings. Which includes 10,000 booking of Creta. Let us know that Hyundai has reopened 255 showrooms and workshops in India. In which it has also got 500 cars booked. At the same time, 170 cars are also sold. 

BMW Car Production: BMW has also started work at its Chennai plant. In this plant, the company is working in single shift with less than 50 percent manpower. Also, along with the guidelines issued regarding coronavirus, it is also following social distancing. At the same time, the workers of BMW Group India headquarters in Gurugram will continue to work from home. Explain that the company produces 14,000 units every year at its Chennai plant.

Maruti Suzuki Car Production: Maruti Suzuki is going to open the Manesar plant in Haryana from May 12. The plant has been closed since March 24. Prior to commencing production, the company has issued new Standard Operating Rules (SOPs) for its dealers. Under the new rules, cleanliness will be taken care of in all showrooms for the safety of customers and employees. On behalf of Maruti Suzuki, it was told that the company is gradually opening its dealer showroom after implementing the new rules and taking approval from the local state governments.

Honda Car Production: Honda is having a problem in opening its plant. However, the company is considering opening the Tapukada plant in Rajasthan next week. The company’s sales director Rajesh Goyal said that labor is not available to work in a shift and start production even at lower levels. These people live in the areas around Dharuhera, Rewari, due to which the problem is coming in to restart the plant. However, the company’s dealer stores across the country are reopening.
