Mi TV models to get patchwall 3.0 update with new content partners, improved UI in India

Xiaomi India on Monday announced the release of Patchwall 3.0, the latest version of the company’s Mi TV software. According to the company, the new patchwall update features a “deeper integration” with newly launched Disney + Hotstar and with UI enhancements to new content partners such as MI List. Other key features of Patchwall 3.0 include improved animations, a new Mi Lanting Pro font, and horizontal scrolling. Xiaomi says that the latest version of Patchwall will be introduced on six models of the Mi TV series starting today.

Xiaomi has announced that the company collaborated with Disney + Hotstar to bring a dedicated sports channel to Patchwall 3.0. Through this channel, the company claims that not only will users be able to discover new content, but they can also access sports programs with “one-click”. Speaking more on this, Xiaomi said in a note:

“Content related to ongoing tournaments spread across various sports like kabaddi, tennis, cricket and more can be easily streamed on the channel.”

Additionally, Xiaomi also announced more than 20 new partners, including Documents and Lotto Kid, for the latest content on PatchWell 3.0. According to the note, Dokube will stream international documentaries on various topics, while Lattoo Kids will provide over 1,500 hours of content suitable for children.

In addition, the new “contextually aware” MI list features a curated list of films and TV shows from various genres. Xiaomi states that the Mi List essentially recommends “specific content that users want to see during festivals such as national occasions days and more.”

In terms of the availability of Patchwall 3.0, the software will reach users with the following Mi TV models:

Mi TV 4A, Mi TV 4C Pro, Mi TV 4A Pro, Mi TV 4 Pro, Mi TV 4X and Mi TV 4X Pro.

The update to users will begin from 6-April, however, it is unclear whether the update will be launched in a phased manner or will reach all the above mentioned devices at once.

Since the launch of Mi TV in the country, Xiaomi has given stiff competition to popular smart TV brands such as Samsung and LG with its budget-friendly pricing and impressive specifications. Recently, the company announced that in the last two years, about 4 million Mi TVs have been shipped to India.

At the same time last year, Xiaomi rolled out the patchwall 2.0 UI update. The update introduced a new design with the Dark and Light theme, among other performance upgrades.
