Nvidia today announced its high-end GeForce RTX 2080 Super and GeForce RTX 2070 Super GPUs for new generation gaming laptops. In addition, the company has updated its Max-Q technology for thermal and power management in slim gaming laptops, which it says allow better performance in more portable devices. Nvidia is highlighting other new gaming and productivity laptops including HP, Lenovo, Dell, MSI, Asus, Razor, Gigabyte, and other companies featuring the more affordable GeForce RTX 2060 GPU. Overall, Nvidia says that more than 100 new models will be announced soon, which will be its biggest launch. The announcements have been timed to coordinate with Intel’s 10th Gen H-series ‘Comet Lake’ laptop CPU launch.
Starting with the new GPU, Nvidia is bringing its latest GeForce RTX Super Series to laptops for the first time. Based on the same Turing architecture as the original GeForce RTX lineup, these GPUs provide hardware ray tracing and DLSS 2.0 for AI-based upscaling of frames provided at low resolution. Nvidia claims that it can actually help extend battery life by up to 20 percent in laptops.
With these new GPUs, Nvidia will provide support for high-refresh-rate displays, with a number of models announced, including 300Hz panels to date. The company says this can reduce gaming latency and improve target accuracy.
New maximum-Q improvements allow dynamic thermal management of CPUs and GPUs to be performed simultaneously, allowing each to trade performance when the other needs to be used more. AMD announced a similar platform-thermal management plan for its Ryzen mobile and Radeon-powered laptops in January this year. The company has been claiming twice as much efficiency per second frame as the Max-Q laptop since three years ago.
The GeForce RTX 2080 Super has 3,072 programmable CUDA cores and runs at 1560MHz. It will be produced with 8GB of GDDR6 memory, and total power consumption will be between 80 and 150W. The GeForce RTX 2070 Super has 2,304 cores and a maximum speed of 1455MHz. The model also has 8GB of GDDR6 memory and power consumption is 80 to 115W.
Apart from gaming laptops, Nvidia is also producing several new Studio RTX laptop models from its various partners. These are aimed at content creators who need graphics processing power but are not necessarily “gamers” aesthetic. These models can use specific software drivers that focus more on long-term stability, and Nvidia also states that more than 45 creative programs from Nvidia, Unreal, Fantasy, Autodesk, Blender, and SolidWorks now allow RTX acceleration for workflows. Support.
Finally, Nvidia has announced that several new gaming laptops that will be selling the laptop version of their more modest GeForce RTX 2060 GPU will start at $ 999 (roughly Rs. 76,000 before duties and taxes), and that laptop will be Ge. The Georce GTX 16-series will be featured. Will be reduced to $ 699 (approx. Rs. 53,200) in the US. Sales of the new models are expected to begin on April 15.
