Xiaomi launched new IoT product in India on 8 May, it could be Mi Box or Mi TV Stick

Xiaomi has also launched the launch of a new Internet of Things (IoT) product along with the Mi 10 in India on Friday 10 May. The Chinese company’s new product is deferred to convert any regular TV into a smart TV. If we look at Xiaomi’s portfolio in global markets, the upcoming device could be the Mi Box model. However, the rumor mill has also suggested that the company may launch the Mi TV Stick as its device to bring smart features to a regular TV.

To kick off the new launch,  Xioami India Managing Director Manu Kumar Jain has posted a tweet highlighting the introduction of the device to regular TV to a smart TV. The tweet states that the launch will be with the Mi 10. However, it does not specify any specifics about the device that will sit with the Mi TV family.

Xiaomi has a range of Mi Box models in China, including the Mi Box 4 SE which was launched in January last year with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of storage. The company also has Mi Box 4 and Mix Box S as two additional offerings in its portfolio. The Mi Box models are available as smart set-top boxes by the company to provide a smart TV experience over regular TVs.

Mi Box or Mi TV Stick
If we take a look at Xiaomi’s historical records that often bring their current products to India locally, the Mi Box S is a likely candidate for the upcoming launch. It was launched globally back in October 2018 and enables a 4K HDR experience with Android TV support.

However, a tipster known on Twitter by the username Sudhanshu suggested in April that Xiaomi would launch its Mi TV stick in Europe later this month. This new device can be launched with the Mi 10 launch in India.
