88% of Indians believe social media ban to be right in an emergency, 61% of people trust viral messages
The government temporarily bans social media platforms to prevent the spread of rumors in emergency situations like mob lynching and terrorist attacks. - IPSOS says the survey was conducted between 24 May and 7 June 2019. It included 19,823 adults aged 18–74 years in the US, South Africa, Turkey and Canada, and 16–74 years of age in other countries.
