It has increased with the coming of the festive season. According to a report by consulting firm Tech Arc, a total of 39 million smartphones will be sold in India from October to December. Of these, 2.1 crore smartphones will be sold through online platforms, while 18 million phones will be sold offline. According to another report, in October only, smartphones worth about 22 thousand crore rupees will be sold through online platforms. If different estimates related to the offline market are also included in this, then this month there will be sales of smartphones worth about 35 thousand crores. A large number of people now use feature phones in India. They are rapidly shifting towards smartphones now.
Sales up 30% over last year
At the beginning of the festive season, sales have picked up compared to last year. Many online platforms organized a six-day festive sale from late September to early October. During this time, these companies have sold goods worth about 22 thousand crores. 55% of this comes from smartphone sales. This is 30% more than this time period of last year.
Over 75 new models launched in festive season
During the festive season in India, many big companies, which have recognized the buying trend, are launching their new products in the market. More than 75 new models have been launched in this festive season. Apple, the premier segment company, has recently introduced all models of iPhone-11 in India. Samsung has also launched Galaxy Fold. Xiaomi has launched several smartphones.
EMI facility with discount on Diwali sale
- There is less than a week left in Diwali. Along with e-commerce companies, many offline stores are also providing bumper discounts as well as EMI facilities. There are also exchange benefits.
- Most online platforms and offline stores are being given a discount of 1 to 10 thousand rupees in terms of price. The amount of discount is also more on such phones which have been launched 6 months or more ago.
- Along with Bajaj Fin Serv, HDFC, State Bank, many fintech startups are also offering easy EM EMIs to the people. Many banks are also giving interest rebate on EMIs of up to three months.
