NASA created flexible and foldable wings for aircraft, this will facilitate its manufacturing and maintenance

The wings of the aircraft are thick and strong, so that they can not twist. But NASA and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology are teaming up with such flexible wings that can change shape during the flight. They have been built by adding hundreds of small modules. They work like birds’ wings.

Maintenance of aircraft will be quite easy

NASA claims that it will make the aircraft’s manufacturing and maintenance easier. However, applying these wings to aircraft may take time, as the planes will have to design accordingly. Common wings are large, so it is difficult to take them from one place to another. These wings are 4 meters wide. When flying or descending, its modules will lock and will work as normal wings.
