Apple is working on a new feature clip. With the help of this feature, the user will be able to use any app without downloading. This feature has also been spotted in iOS 14 built. According to the 9 to 5 Mac report, some functions of the app will be able to be experienced by using the QR code scan. With the introduction of this feature, the entire app will not have to be installed to take trial of any specific feature of the app. This will reduce the way the slick feature works in Android.
Currently, when opening a link on iOS or scanning a QR code, Safari opens in the browser. But there is an option to give this universal link in apps that, after installing, it opens on the app instead of Safari. But this will change after the arrival of clips. According to the report, Apple wants to give the user interactive and dynamic content experience. The Clips API in built is directly connected to the QR code reader.
Will be able to see content in floating card
The iOS user will scan the link code in an app, then he will be able to directly interact with it in the card interface shown on the screen. For example, if the user finds a link through a YouTube video, but does not have the official app installed on his iPhone or iPad, then only that code has to be scanned and the video will play in the plotting card. This floating card will have the option to download the full version of the app from the App Store.
