America’s giant Apple has started manufacturing its expensive smartphone, iPhone 7, in India to enhance the Made In India portfolio. So far Apple’s cheap model iPhone 6S and SE were assembled in the Bangalore-based plant. Apple has joined hands with Taiwan-based manufacturing software, which has been entrusted with the responsibility of assembling the iPhone in India.
The company has indicated this to make India a manufacturing hub, and the company said that we are proud to make iPhone 7 in India for our local customers. We are committed to staying in India for a long time.
According to media reports, despite making iPhone 7 in India, the company will not cut its price. The company will use this margin for product sales and marketing. The cost of the company to make the iPhone 7 will be very low as the government has given discounts on duty under the Make in India scheme.
Vistron has recently received the approval of an investment proposal of Rs 5,000 crore from the Government of India to increase manufacturing. Company wants to use this investment on Apple’s high end devices in India.
