The UK tech startup Nothing has recently teased the upcoming launch of their second-generation phone, the Nothing Phone 2. The device is expected to feature an AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate, Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, LPDDR5 RAM, UFS 3.1 storage, a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging. Additionally, the device has also reportedly been certified by the BIS, indicating that it could launch in India soon.
An artist’s render of the Nothing Phone 2, shared by a tipster, gives us a vague idea of what the device could look like. The phone is expected to have a glass rear and front panel with an aluminum frame sandwiched. Nothing has also teased images of the phone, hinting at a full-screen display with thin bezels.
The Nothing Phone 2 is said to feature a 6.55-inch full-HD+ AMOLED panel with a 120Hz screen refresh rate. It is also said to have an embedded fingerprint reader for added security.
Under the hood, the Nothing Phone 2 is said to be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC and will be available in three variants. The base variant is said to have 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, while the second variant will have 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The top-of-the-line variant is said to feature 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.
The device is said to house a 50-megapixel primary rear camera, with two other cameras making up the rear camera setup. It is also expected to come with support for NFC, WiFi, Bluetooth, 5G, and Satellite connectivity. The phone is also said to retain Phone 1’s stereo speakers and two mics.
As per reports, the Nothing Phone 2 is expected to launch in the UK summer, which means it could be launched between July and September. Nothing has yet to specify a launch date for the smartphone.
The Nothing Phone 2 is priced competitively, with the base variant expected to start at around Rs. 35,000 in India.
