As technology enthusiasts eagerly await the next flagship from Samsung, the Galaxy S24 series is already making waves with its expected launch early next year. Following the success of the Galaxy S23 series, which hit the market in February 2023, the Galaxy S24 series is poised to take the smartphone experience to new heights. With certain specifications and features already leaked, let’s explore what we can expect from the upcoming Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra handsets.
Recently, prominent tipster Ice Universe (@universeice) shared the Derka listing, uncovering crucial battery details of the purported Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra models. The Galaxy S24+ is expected to sport a battery with the model number EB-BS926ABY, boasting a rated capacity of 4,755mAh. On the other hand, the high-end Galaxy S24 Ultra will feature a battery with the model number EB-BS928ABY, offering a rated capacity of 4,855mAh. Considering typical values, we can anticipate that the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra will pack batteries of approximately 4,900mAh and 5,000mAh, respectively.
The Galaxy S24 Ultra is said to continue the camera excellence of its predecessor. Leaks suggest that it will showcase a formidable camera unit, headlined by a 200-megapixel Samsung HP2 primary rear sensor. Additionally, it is expected to feature a 12-megapixel Sony IMX564 sensor with an ultra-wide lens. The rear camera system is also rumored to include a 12-megapixel Sony IMX754 sensor with a periscope telephoto lens offering 3x optical zoom. Furthermore, another 12-megapixel Sony IMX754+ image sensor with 10x optical zoom will provide a slight upgrade over the Galaxy S23 Ultra’s 10-megapixel sensors.
The Galaxy S24+ has recently been spotted on Geekbench with the model number SM-S926U, revealing exciting insights into its performance capabilities. The handset is speculated to be powered by a chipset codenamed “pineapple,” featuring a slightly different cluster setup than the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. This chipset is rumored to be the yet-unannounced Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, expected to be paired with an Adreno 750 GPU. It is anticipated that Samsung will launch the Galaxy S24+ with this powerful SoC in the US, while other markets may receive a variant equipped with the Exynos 2400 processor. The phone is also expected to come with 8GB of RAM and run on the latest Android 14 operating system out-of-the-box.
The Galaxy S24 series has also been tipped to feature titanium frames, representing a shift from the aluminum frames of its predecessors. This change is likely to enhance the overall durability and premium feel of the handsets. Furthermore, the Galaxy S24+ is expected to feature a larger 6.65-inch display, offering an immersive viewing experience, compared to the 6.6-inch panel of the Galaxy S23+.
As the anticipation for the Samsung Galaxy S24 series continues to build, leaks and rumors have provided us with exciting glimpses of what’s to come. From powerful processors and impressive camera systems to larger displays and elegant design elements, the Galaxy S24+ and Galaxy S24 Ultra appear set to redefine the smartphone landscape. While we eagerly await the official announcement from Samsung, the Galaxy S24 series already promises to be an exceptional addition to the world of flagship smartphones. Stay tuned for more updates and be ready to embark on a thrilling journey into the future of mobile technology with the Samsung Galaxy S24 series.
