The smartphone is available in two color variants, namely Meteor Black and Vibrant Gold. On the other hand, the Oppo A78 5G, which was launched earlier this year, is priced slightly higher at Rs. 18,999. Similar to the Vivo Y36, it also offers 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Oppo A78 5G is available in Glowing Black and Glowing Blue color options.

Specifications Comparison

Moving on to the specifications, both the Vivo Y36 5G and Oppo A78 5G have some similarities as well as differences.

Starting with the operating system, both smartphones run on Android 13-based operating systems. However, there is a difference in the user interface. The Vivo Y36 runs on Funtouch OS 13, while the Oppo A78 5G uses ColorOS 13.

In terms of display, the Vivo Y36 features a larger 6.64-inch full-HD+ LCD display with a resolution of 1,080×2,388 pixels. On the other hand, the Oppo A78 sports a slightly smaller 6.56-inch HD+ IPS LCD screen with a resolution of 720×1,612 pixels. While both displays offer good visuals, the Vivo Y36 has a higher resolution, providing sharper images.

When it comes to processing power, the Vivo Y36 is equipped with a Snapdragon 680 SoC, while the Oppo A78 5G boasts a 7nm MediaTek Dimensity 700 SoC. Both processors are capable of delivering smooth performance for everyday tasks and gaming.

In terms of camera capabilities, both smartphones feature a dual rear camera setup. The Vivo Y36 5G is led by a 50-megapixel primary sensor, accompanied by a 2-megapixel sensor. On the other hand, the Oppo A78 5G also offers a 50-megapixel primary camera but comes with a different 2-megapixel sensor. For selfie enthusiasts, the Oppo A78 5G sports an 8-megapixel front camera, while the Vivo Y36 features a higher resolution 16-megapixel front camera.
