These employees will get Jio SIM on the new year, everything will be Rs 99

Reliance Jio Infocom will provide services to Indian Railways from January 1 Officials say that this will reduce the railways’ phone bill by at least 35 percent.

So far, Bharti Airtel, the telecom service provider of the Railways, has been. For the last six years, Airtel has been providing 1.95 lakh mobile phone connections to Railways, which is used by its employees in the ‘Closed User Group’ (CUG) across the country. It is said that for this, the Railways pays a bill of Rs 100 crore annually to Bharti Airtel. The validity of Bharti Airtel is coming to an end on December 31 this year.

In the order issued by the Railway Board on 20th November, it has been said that it has given the responsibility of finalizing the new CUG scheme for Indian Railways, RailTel (Rail Sector Public Undertakings), because the validity of the existing scheme expires on December 31, 2018 Has been there. While finalizing the new CUG scheme, RailTel has given an agreement to implement Reliance Jio Infocom to implement this scheme.

It has been said in the order that the new CUG will be applicable from January 1, 2019. The order also details the rates the company will take. The CUG is a supplementary service provided by mobile operators. In this, the customer can call anyone included in the group for free. This service also applies to SMS. Reliance Jio will provide 4G-3G connections under this scheme. It will be free of calls.

The company will provide four packages to the Railways. Most senior officials (2 percent) will get 60 GB of monthly charge of 60 GB. Joint Secretary level officers (26 percent) will get 45 GB plan for Rs 99 monthly fee, group C employees (72 percent), plan 30 GB for 67 rupees, and Rs 49 for bulk SMS.

Jio’s 25 GB plan for regular customers is available in 199 rupees. After this, customers have to pay 20 rupees per GB for the top-up of their plan.
