Google just announced the Pixel 9 Pro Fold, the company’s latest foldable smartphone, and launched the phone in India, as promised. Powered by the Google Tensor G4 chip, the foldable boasts a larger 8-inch 120Hz LTPO OLED foldable screen and a 6.3-inch 120Hz OLED outer screen.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold features a fluid-friction hinge that easily opens fully flat, making it the thinnest foldable phone at just 5.1 mm when open. It has a multi-alloy steel body with an aerospace-grade high-strength aluminum alloy cover and a silky matt glass back.
The Pixel 9 Pro Fold is built to last with scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and an IPX8 rating for water resistance, allowing it to withstand submersion in up to 1.5 meters of water for 30 minutes.
Equipped with a 48MP main camera with OIS, the Pixel 9 Pro Fold can also be used as a selfie camera thanks to the screen on the front. Additionally, it includes a 10.5MP ultra-wide camera and a 10.8MP telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. The camera system offers Pro controls, Super Res Zoom up to 20x, Add Me, Macro Focus, Night Sight, Hands-free astrophotography, Dual Screen Preview, Tabletop mode hands-free shots, and the Made You Look feature, which helps kids smile for photos by displaying an animation on the outer screen.
The Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold is priced at Rs. 1,72,999 for the 256GB model in India. In the US, it costs USD 1799 (Rs. 1,50,935 approx.). It will be available later this year, with the exact date yet to be revealed by the company.
Google has unveiled the Pixel Buds Pro 2 alongside the Pixel 9 series smartphones. The updated earbuds are 24% lighter and 27% smaller compared to the earlier version. Designed using 45 million ear scans and real-life wear tests, they feature a twist-to-adjust stabilizer with four eartip sizes for a secure and personalized fit.
The Pixel Buds Pro 2 features 11 mm drivers for deep bass and a high-frequency chamber for smooth treble. They offer spatial audio with head tracking for immersion and are powered by Google’s Tensor A1 chip, which enhances audio performance and noise cancellation. The Tensor A1 processes audio with ultra-low latency and adapts to your environment up to 3 million times per second, providing Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) that is twice as effective as the previous generation, with Silent Seal 2.0 for enhanced noise reduction.
These buds offer up to 8 hours of use with ANC enabled and 30 hours with the charging case. A 15-minute charge provides an additional three hours of battery life. They support USB-C and Qi-certified wireless charging, with connectivity options including Bluetooth v5.4, LE Audio, and Super Wideband. The earbuds are IP54-rated for sweat and water resistance, while the case is IPX4-rated. The Gemini AI assistant enables hands-free operation for directions, reminders, and music recommendations, with Gemini Live supporting extended conversations even when the phone is locked.
