Aarogya Setu App is now mandatory for the public, private sector employees

The government has announced the use of the Arogya Setu App for all public and private sector employees, announcing another extension of the ongoing lockdown to prevent the COVID-19 epidemic. This has made the app mandatory for people residing in the COVID-19 container zone to enable intensive monitoring and contact tracing in those areas. Authorities have been asked by the government to ensure the total coverage of the app among those residents. Arogya Setu was introduced as a voluntary app by the government in early April and has seen a large increase in use by PM Narendra Modi for its use and establishments like CBSE.

Arogya Setu for all employees of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA)  should be stated in its instruction, “The use of the Arogya Setu App will be made compulsory for all employees, both privately and publicly. It will be the responsibility of the heads of the organizations concerned to ensure 100 percent coverage of this app among the employees. “

The government on Wednesday made the app mandatory for all central government employees.

In the guideline, the MHA also mentioned that offices located in the Red Zone, except in the zone or zones, would be allowed to open with a strength of 33 percent. The remaining employees will have to work from home. It states, “Private offices can operate as per the requirement with 33 percent power, the remaining individuals working from home.” It is also implied that in the Orange and Green zones, 100 percent strength is allowed. In the Red Zone government offices “Senior officers of the level of Deputy Secretary will be allowed to work with full force,” the remaining employees will participate as per requirement up to 33 percent.

The mandatory
MHA guidelines in the container zone also state that officials will ensure that the Arogya Setu App is used by everyone in the container zone. The guidelines read, “Local authorities will ensure 100 percent coverage of the Arogya Setu app among the residents of the control area”

Arogya Setu – launched in early April, is a contact tracing app using Bluetooth and GPS data of users for this purpose. The government has decided to conduct intensive monitoring for contact tracing in the Containment Zone. Although it is not compulsory for everyone in India, its use has been strictly promoted by government leaders and officials.
