Samsung Galaxy J4 + Review: What phones are worth buying?

Samsung is continuously launching new smartphones to maintain its hold in the market. South Korean company has launched its handsets in almost every price category in the Indian market. The company has recently introduced several new budget smartphones in the country. Talk of J series, then this series’ smartphone budgets come in price. Samsung Galaxy J4+ and Galaxy J6+ have been launched in the budget. Samsung’s intention is to challenge the Xiaomi in the budget category in the Indian market with these smartphones. We have used the Samsung Galaxy J4 + for a few days. Let’s review it and know what its features and drawbacks are.

Design
Talk about this design, Samsung’s smartphone is quite long. On the front side, the phone has the capture of Infinity Display. There is no physical navigation or home button on the display. A little space is available on the top and bottom of the display. The phone feels light on taking it in hand. There are antenna bands, LED lights and front camera and other sensors on the upper bezel over the display.
Talk about its body, its rear is made of polycarbonate, but it comes with a glass-like finish. There is no fingerprint sensor in J4+. On the rear, camera sensor and LED flash are given in the middle. Under the camera module, Samsung’s branding can be seen. The phone has a power button on the right, while the volume buttons are on the left side. The SIM slot in the phone is also on the left edge.

The talk display has a 6 inch HD + infinity display in the handset, which is equipped with 2.5 d perfume glass. In terms of price, the screen experience is good. In spite of the IPS LCD panel, the colors of the text and pictures appearing in the phone are accurate and crisp. The Galaxy J4+ screen’s viewing angles are good and there is no problem in using the phone even in sunlight. However, the phone could have a full HD panel. The screen is equipped with a Blue Light filter. Due to long and large display, it is a good idea to watch a video in the phone. But video streaming is limited to 720 pixels, which means that Samsung Galaxy J4+ should not have much hope in terms of video quality. It is convenient to hold the phone with one hand.

Performance and Software
In the Samsung Galaxy J4 + 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 processor, 2 GB RAM and 32 GB inbuilt storage is provided. The storage of smartphones can be increased to 512 GB via microSD card. There are many other phones in the market for the price of the Galaxy J4+, which come with better specifications.

We did not have a problem in switching between multitasking and apps in the Galaxy J4+. It gets hot only after playing games like Subway Surfer. This keeps hanging during the same PUBG games. This device is for entry-level smartphones users. Those who use smartphones for every job will not like it. Honor 9n, Radmi 6 Pro, Shawmi Redmi Note 5 and Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 are a much better option than the Galaxy J4+.

The fingerprint sensor given in the Samsung Galaxy J4+ also does not work properly and this often refuses to unlock the phone. We lack the fingerprint sensor in the handset.

We liked the audio experiences found in this Samsung phone. However, due to the position of the speaker many times the music experience is spoiled. The Dolby Atomos touch is in the smartphone and the sound comes with headphones. The audio from the loudspeaker is also fine. The smartphone comes with Dual SIM and Dual 4G VoLTE Suport. This means that users will be able to enjoy 4G on both SIM cards simultaneously.

In this Samsung phone, Samsung’s Exercises 9.5 skin has been given with the Android 8.1 Orio. The phone already has many apps installed, including apps such as bike mode, Microsoft suit, Amjon shopping, and Game Launcher. An app drawer is also given in the phone, which means that not all apps will appear together on the home screen. Overall, the performance of the Galaxy J4 + is average.

Camera
The Samsung Galaxy J4+ has 13 megapixel single rear camera with LED flash and aperture F / 1.9. Talk about the performance, the Galaxy J4+ camera makes slow response. The camera is equipped with Panorama, HDR and Pro mode. But there is problem of shutter lag while taking photos.

Photos taken in daylight come shining with detailing. These colors also look good. But the camera struggles in low light. Photos taken in the evening and Indoor are blurred and the quality becomes very bad. Overall, the performance of the rear camera is average.

A 5 megapixel front camera coming with aperture F / 2.2 comes with LED flash. The pictures taken from the front camera are also not very good. In the light of day, the colors of selfies look over saturated.

Battery:
Speaking of Samsung Galaxy J4 + battery performance, it will be called average. Many other phones with this price come with better battery performance. The handset does not have fast charging support and it can take about 3½ hours to get full charge from 0. With normal use the phone runs for one day after charging it. Pone has a power saving mode.

Buy or Do not Buy?
The Galaxy J4+, launched at Rs 10,990, is currently available to buy around Rs 10,000 in the market. The handset’s design is good and its specifications are also fine. But there are many other better options available in this price market. If you are going to buy a smartphone for the first time then this phone is for you. But if you are already using a smartphone, then options like Redmi Note 5, Asus Zenphone Max Pro M1, Honor 9N and Redmi 6 Pro are more viable options.
